STANDARD
General aspect
Dog running short on legs, having a considerable substance, well proportioned, distinguished. One wishes a certain quantity of loose skin.
Head and cranium
Cranium in dome. The stop is moderately marked and the occipital protuberance is prominent. Of average width to the face, the head is thinned slightly towards the muzzle. The muzzle is dry of general aspect, but it is not out of whistle. The chamfer is almost parallel to the higher line of cranium and it is not much longer than cranium, of the stop to the occiput. There can be wrinkles, in moderated quantity, on the face and close to the eyes. In any case, the skin of the head must be sufficiently loose to form clearly marked folds when one draws it forwards or when the head is lowered. The chops largely recover the lower lips. The truffle can be in light projection in front of the lips. It is entirely black, except in the dogs with clear dress where it can be maroon or color liver. The nostrils are large and quite open.
Eyes
In the form of rhombus, neither prominent nor too inserted. Dark, they can go until the brown means in the dogs to clear dress. Calm and serious expression. The conjunctive one of the lower eyelid is apparent, but without excess. The clear or yellow eye is a defect.
Ears
Attached low, just in lower part of the line of the eye. Long, they clearly exceed the end of a muzzle correct length, but excess. They narrow over all their length and are well blinked (they rotate). Very flexible, they have a fine and velvety texture.
Jaws
Strong, they present one articulated out of scissors perfect, regular and complete; in other words, the upper incisors recover the lower in a close contact and are established plumb with the jaws.
Neck
Muscular, quite curved and good length, it presents a pronounced pennon, but without exaggeration.
Forehand
The scapulas are quite tilted; the shoulder is not charged. The forelimbs are short, powerful and have a strong framework. The elbows are turned neither towards the interior nor towards outside. They are placed perfectly against the sides of the chest. In its upper part, the front armlever is slightly tilted towards the interior, but not at the point to block the freedom of the movement or to involve a contact of the members in station upright or action. Seen of face, the breast piece adapts perfectly to the curve of the front armlever. The bouleture is a very serious defect. The skin forms folds on the guns.
Body
Length and descended well over all its length. The sternum is prominent, but the chest neither narrow nor is descended to excess. The coasts are quite round and, without forming edge, they extend well behind. The back is rather broad and of level. The garrot and the kidney are roughly with the same height, although the kidney can present a light curve. The back, of the garrot at the insertion point of the hips, is not excessive length.
Back-hand
Very muscular and arisen well. Seen of behind, the dog gives almost the impression of a sphere. Well angled Grasset. The bulges are well descended and the posterior guns slightly brought back under the body. The bulges are turned neither towards the interior nor towards outside, but are plumb with the body when the dog is in station upright natural. The skin can form folds between the bulges and the foot and, with the back of the articulation of the bulge, a light pocket can appear in consequence of the laxity of the skin.
Feet
Solid masses, equipped with good joints and good bearings. The former feet can be directed right having or be turned slightly towards outside. In all the cases, the station upright must be perfectly regular. The weight being also distributed on the fingers and the bearings and no area not equipped with bearings being in contact with the ground, the feet leaves the prints of a large dog.
Tail (whip)
Attached well, rather long, strong with the base and meaner at its end, it presents in its lower part a fairly provided hard hair. Moving, it is carried to the top and forms a soft curve, with the manner of a sabre, without never being rolled up nor right.
Paces, movement
It's a very important point. The pace must be flexible and plain with a good extension forwards data by the former ones and a powerful impulse given by the posterior ones. In action, one should never observe stiffness in the bulges or the grassets. No finger must never trail on the ground.
Hair
It must be smooth, short and tight without being too fine. The profile of the dog pure in its lines and is deprived of fringes. The long hair and the soft hair with fringes are serious defects.
Color
The dress is generally tricolour (black, fire and white) or two-tone (lemon and white), but any color of dog running is allowed.
Cut
33 to 38 cm with the garrot.
Defects
Any variation compared to what precedes must be regarded as a defect which will be penalized according to its gravity.
